Rattlesnake season: March through October (though snakes can be active year-round in warmer areas).

Initial Vaccination:

First dose: Administer 4-6 weeks before exposure.

Booster: 3-4 weeks after the initial dose for full protection.

Recommended every year, ideally in February, to prepare for snake activity.

Dogs in high-risk areas may benefit from boosters every 6 months

Who Needs It?

Active dogs in rural or desert areas.

Pets that hike, hunt, or spend time in snake-prone environments.
Costs:

First Visit: $65 exam + $42 for the initial vaccine, then $42 for the second booster.

For Existing Clients with an in the last year: Technician visits available at $42 for each booster dose.
What Does the Vaccine Do?

Builds Immunity: Helps dogs develop antibodies against rattlesnake venom, especially Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes.

Reduces Severity: Lessens swelling, pain, and tissue damage from a bite, lowering the risk of life-threatening reactions.

Buys Time: Slows venom effects, giving owners more time to seek emergency care.
